Although I often disagree with Jeff, and ...Frank,

Although I often disagree with Jeff, and sometimes agree with him..On one point I do agree...Using stimulus monies to expand roads into rural areas and to widen roads is a waste of money. If we haven't learned from past mistakes that road building is a means of increasing environmental and ultimately economic harm, then we have learned nothing...

New roads need to be maintained...we don't have the money to maintain what we already have....it would seem logical to me that the stimulus dollars should be used to repair, upgrade and generally improve EXISTING infrastructure; not create new infrastructure that we cannot afford to maintain.

As for comments on sewer treatment monies, on one point I do agree with Jeff....the old urban systems, especially those with combined sewer overflow issues should be upgraded and repaired first. CSO's are a real problem that have never been properly funded. We should use stimulus monies to fix what we built decades ago, while creating jobs as well.

A complicated issue to be sure....Wayne DeFeohttp://defeoassociates.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3191316279215320372.post-71529065419616246612009-05-20T22:52:07.105-04:002009-05-20T22:52:07.105-04:00Frank,
You are very negative and offer little your...Frank,
You are very negative and offer little yourself. Jeff and many in NJ Sierra are in agreement on certain environmental principles. The Sierra Club does a lot of good. What are you accomplishing by bashing a leading environmental group of volunteers? What are your motives? You seem more and more like a stooge for the corporate sector.
Dave YenniorDavid Yenniornoreply@blogger.com
